Brooklyn fashionistas celebrated the seventh season of fashion appreciation last weekend, as many designers showcased their new lines.
Models, designers and those who appreciate fashion as art say Brooklyn is at the center of the fashion world. The runway show featured up and coming designers from the borough like Terri Stevens, who appeared on the show "Project Runway," Alisha Trimble and Jarel Duroseau.
"We just want to feel beautiful and celebrate who we are and express ourselves," Trimble says.
Duroseau's couture line was a favorite at the show, despite the fact that every item was black. Duroseau says he was inspired by his mother and her twin sister's fashion in creating his pieces.
