A Brooklyn man is finally free after serving 27 years behind bars for a crime he says that he didn't commit.
Last week, a judge overturned the conviction of Shabaka Shakur because of the questionable tactics of a disgraced retired detective.
Shakur was released Monday. He says that he is thankful to be free and he is eager to catch up with family and friends.
At this point, Shakur and his lawyer say that they are considering whether to seek compensation for his imprisonment.
