A group of black men walked through East New York Sunday in a plea for no more killings and a better future for borough youth.

Members of ?Saving Our Sons? said they are responding to the recent surge of gun killings in Brooklyn. Organizers said they are asking parents to contact them if they are having trouble with their sons. They said they will help plug them into the right programs.

Some said education is the key to stopping the violence. ?Teach them their history, their correct history. Let them know about their culture, because that's where it starts,? Bomani Maysa, of Flatbush, said.

The latest police statistics show that murder has increased 34 percent in the north half of the borough.

Organizers said they plan to stop in Brownsville next to let the community know they need to take back their streets.
