Brooklyn is set to receive about $1 million in environmental grants.The state is distributing more than $25 million to help revitalize waterfronts and other open spaces. New York City is expected to see about $3.9 million from the state.One location in Brooklyn that will get assistance is the East Midwood Jewish Center. The money will be used to restore the center's stained glass windows, dome and skylight. Prospect Park's Southeast Lake Edge will also see a share of the funding.The Environmental Protection Fund started in 1993 and is funded through the real estate transfer tax.
