? Some Brooklyn teachers, students and parents are fighting to get a curriculum that includes African-American history and culture in schools.
They believe the Department of Education has failed to comply with laws to provide the information to students, to hire more minority teachers and to provide adequate accommodations for minority schools.
Elected officials and the organization Black New Yorkers for Education Excellence are introducing a resolution to the City Council to include African-American history in the curriculum.
