A Brooklyn woman will fill an honorary role at the city's St. Patrick's Day parade in Manhattan next week.
Gina Sheehan, a self-described proud Irish-Catholic Brooklyn resident, will step in as one of 14 aides to the parade's grand marshal.
"It's my whole heritage, it's my religion, it's everything," Sheehan says. "My mother used to take me when she marched, she was from County Cork in Ireland."
This year's grand marshal is former U.S. Sen. George Mitchell.
