Black ice causes treacherous driving conditions
Rain and freezing temperatures combined to create treacherous driving conditions across the Hudson Valley for the past two days.
Roads were still slippery this morning, but they were nowhere near what they were like yesterday. "Weather conditions were real bad. The rain came down fast. It flash froze, right to the ground. We had our hands full trying to keep up with it," says Anthony Perri, of the Stony Point Highway Department.
Winds and rising temperatures have dried out most roadways today.
Still, highway departments across the region are still out salting roads and are cautioning drivers to watch out for black ice.
