A body camera worn by a police officer gave insight into an officer-involved shooting in Indiana.
The Evansville Police Department says a person with a gun started shooting near a small crowd outside a gas station.
The video shows the officer returning several shots as he chases the shooter, and when the gunfire ends, the shooter is on the ground.
A local police sergeant believes the officer followed proper protocol.
He says the officer had the right to use his gun to protect those citizens standing nearby.
The NYPD will soon roll out a pilot program to have officers wear body cameras. The department plans to give out 60 cameras to five precincts and a housing unit.
