New Yorkers are still waiting to find out who the Democratic nominee for mayor is and News 12 is with you every step of the way. 

The top candidates for mayor keep telling New Yorkers to stay patient, but it has become difficult to do with all the recounting from the Board of Elections. 

The BOE says they wouldn’t be releasing any unofficial ranked choice voting results on other races like the ones for borough president and city council because of quality control concerns.

On primary day last week, the first choice votes were tabulated, not including absentee ballots. 

Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams held a solid lead, then on Tuesday, the BOE released a version of the unofficial ranked choice results--which were thrown off because of 135,000 extra test votes incorrectly included in that count. 

On Wednesday, the Board of Elections recounted without those test votes. 

We can expect some numbers on those absentee votes next Tuesday.
