A building in Boerum Hill was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after bricks fell from its facade.
The bricks fell from the six-story building and landed below near Bergen and Nevins streets.
According to the Department of Buildings, the building's owner was not allowed to be doing any work on it.
A full stop-work order was issued in 2013, but a neighbor says they have been doing work with a permit on and off for years.
Police say the Department of Buildings will return to the building Thursday to determine if it is safe for people to move back in.
No one was injured.
