East New York residents are calling for peace after a spate of recent violence in their community.
The call for peace comes after a shooter in a construction worker's vest and hard hat killed a man in broad daylight outside of the Pennsylvania Avenue subway station Friday.
The victim was identified as 41-year-old Charles Jones, who died Friday at Brookdale Hospital. He had been released from prison only two months prior.
The suspect has not yet been caught.
Just 24 hours before the killing, two men pistol-whipped a 43-year-old woman and attempted to rob her on Montauk Avenue.
Community advocate Tony Herbert is among many voices calling for a stop to the violence. He says criminals should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
