Riders of the L train during the late morning and afternoon could have to wait five times as long to catch the train starting Oct. 3.

The MTA says trains between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway will now run every 24 minutes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday until Nov. 7.

The change comes as the MTA makes routine track repairs along the route between the two stations.

The change means midday commuters could have to wait five times as long for the next train, which typically runs every four to five minutes.

Commuters finishing their overnight shifts tell News 12 that a 24-minute wait time is a big disruption.

"This is a little disruptive, more than a little disruptive, this sucks," said commuter Jonothan, who takes the train from Atlantic Avenue down to 8th Avenue daily.

The decrease in service comes as the MTA moves to increase prices on fares.
