Broken, dangerous elevator strands hi-rise residents in the Bronx

Residents of one Bronx hi-rise apartment building are pleading for help after they say they are stranded by a faulty elevator. A 17-story apartment building on Boston Road houses hundreds of tenants. However, they say getting to their homes is constantly a struggle because more often than not, the elevator is broken. Residents complain when they report the problems, they are constantly told by management that they are working on it. Most say even when the elevator is working, they are scared to take it, in fear they will get stuck inside. Broken elevators continue to be one of the most common complaints of building residents citywide. Out of the building?s 79 violations through the New York City Department of Buildings, 73 pertain to the elevators.
