Several local groups marched through Allerton Thursday to spread a message about ending gun violence.
Anti-gun activists began at Gun Hill Playground and marched to Zimmerman Playground holding signs and begging the community to do its part to put an end to the violence.
Among the advocate groups were Save Our Streets, Stand Up Against Violence, Bronx Rises Against Gun Violence and Release the Grip.
The groups began and ended at the two playgrounds to express that they wanted children to be able to play safely and grow old.
The march comes as the Bronx has had 133 shooting incidents so far this year, up nearly 19% compared to this time last year, according to the NYPD's latest crime statistics.
Advocates are urging everyone to do their part at home and make anti-gun violence rhetoric a part of their daily conversations.
