The site has been administering the vaccine for a little over a month. It is open seven days a week and on average serves between 350 to 500 a day in Hunts Point and surrounding communities.

Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. received his COVID-19 vaccination at a SOMOS vaccine center in Hunts Point Tuesday. 
The BP got his first shot of the Moderna vaccine, along with other community leaders. 
“We are living proof that the vaccine was fast at no cost. It was easy, it was painless, and this is what works,” said Ruben Diaz Jr. 
The site has been administering the vaccine for a little over a month. It is open seven days a week and on average serves between 350 to 500 a day in Hunts Point and surrounding communities. 
Community leaders are hoping to reduce hesitancy in communities of color and encourage more New Yorkers to get protected.
