The outcome of Mayor Michael Bloomberg?s proposal to change term limits could alter the political hierarchy of the Bronx.
Current City Comptroller Bill Thompson told a local newspaper that he will base his decision to run for mayor on whether the term limits are adjusted or not. Some Bronx officials may choose to stay put in their current roles if it appears that term limits are negotiable.
Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion says he will run for city comptroller. This, according to interviews with News 12 The Bronx could prompt Assemblyman Ruben Diaz, Jr. and Councilman Joel Rivera to run for borough president.
It appears that many local politicians will make their decisions about which office to run for after the city council votes on Bloomberg?s bill Oct. 23.
