(12/04/07) THE BRONX ? According to the results of a traffic safety study, pedestrians and bicyclists may want to be extra careful when crossing the street.
The group Transportation Alternatives claims the intersection of Webster Avenue and E. Fordham Road is the most dangerous in the Bronx and the third most dangerous in New York City for pedestrians. That intersection had 99 accidents involving pedestrians in 11 years.
For bicyclists, the intersection of Bruckner Boulevard and Bronx River Avenue proved to be the most dangerous in the Bronx with 17 accidents. Cyclists say both drivers and bicycle riders must work together for increased safety on the streets.
