The names of the 143 people from the Bronx who lost their lives at the World Trade Center were read aloud Tuesday afternoon at the Bronx Courthouse.
Seven years after the attacks of September 11, 2001, Tuesday was a day for many to pay respect to lost family members and friends.
?[I am] very proud of all firefighters and officers? roles that we played in the tremendous rescue efforts down at the World Trade Center,? says FDNY Bronx Borough Commander Asst. Chief James Esposito.
Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion Jr., who believes in the importance of rebuilding the ideal of a trade center, also attended the event. ?We need to give it a body once again,? he says.
There is currently no memorial at the World Trade Center site. However, construction on one will be complete in the next few years. There is a memorial for all those who died in the attacks at the Bronx Courthouse.
