Educators at St. Margaret of Cortona School in the Bronx are celebrating fundraising efforts that pulled in over $24,000 for school amenities.

The initiative was a collaborative effort of one-time donations from students, family and friends that will be used for items such as blackout curtains for the school's gym and new bottle filling stations for students.

Principal Hugh Keenan motivated students to read and raise more funds by proposing different scenarios if they reached certain goals. If they raised $5,000, they could tape him to the wall. Reaching $10,000 would mean students could cover him and the regional superintendent with slime. Hitting the $20,000 goal meant Keenan would get his head shaved.

"I feel great! I feel a little cold, but I'll have a nice hat to wear for the Super Bowl," Keenan said after getting his head shaved in front of students. When asked if he would do it again, Keenan responded yes and was even willing to get slimed. He says every year just gets better and better.
