A Bronx woman was honored by the city for her leadership in a project that commemorates the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks with flowers.
Evelyn Davila, who works at the Bronxwood Home for the Aged, received an award for two years of service in the Daffodil Project. The volunteer beautification program was founded in 2001 and has since planted more than four million bulbs in hopes of raising the spirits of New Yorkers.
Davila has made daffodil plantings an annual tradition for Bronxwood residents.
