The Bronx YMCA has implemented a new financial assistance program called "Strong Kids" which helps low-income families that cannot otherwise afford its programs.
Every year, the program offers assistance to 300 families that are not financially stable, but whose kids still have an interest in exercise and athletics.
YMCA officials say they plan to turn even more kids into "Strong Kids" thanks to an upcoming fundraiser that is expected to raise more than $150,000.
