Brooklyn-born singer Neil Diamond made a surprise return to the borough Monday night.
The legendary singer-songwriter put on a show at Erasmus Hall High School, where he is a graduate. He announced the show on his Twitter page with the posting, "back to Brooklyn, back to school."
The concert was filmed as part of a documentary that Diamond is working on.
Concert organizers told News 12 that there was enough room for 800 people in the high school. A total of 500 tickets were distributed to fans via Twitter, Facebook and Neil Diamond's fan club. An additional 300 fans were able to see the live show.
Erasmus Hall High School's alumni also includes music mogul Clive Davis and Barbra Steisand.
