A Brooklyn church continued its generous ways Sunday.
The Concord Baptist Church of Christ presented checks to three local non-profit groups in Bedford Stuyvesant. The Billie Holiday Theater, the Bedford Stuyvesant Volunteer Ambulance Corporation and the Center for Law and Social Justice of Medgar Evers College were recipients of the grants.
Members of the congregation say the donations come from their "Christ Fund," a million-dollar endowment used to help non-profit organizations in central Brooklyn. They say the church has given over a half-million dollars since the fund's inception in 1988.
