Commuters who rely on the G train began their first work week with scheduled service disruptions.
Three G train stations closed Friday to repair damage caused when 3 million gallons of salt water flooded the subway tunnel during Superstorm Sandy, including the Greenpoint Avenue station in Brooklyn.
Affected residents have three alternatives, including a free shuttle bus connecting to one of the G line stations still operating and the East River Ferry from its newly restored Greenpoint dock.
Members of Transportation Alternatives are also spreading the word that commuters should consider walking or biking using the Pulaski Bridge.
Officials expect to have all stations open again by Sept. 2.
