Heavy rains swamped morning commuters Monday before the weather improved and people emerged to spend time outdoors.
The storm prompted concerns of flooding and hydroplaning along the Belt Parkway. The heaviest rainfall lasted until around 2 p.m., and skies cleared significantly after that.
Brooklyn residents went outside to enjoy a much more pleasant afternoon. At Prospect Park, people were tossing around a football, riding bicycles and jogging.
Tuesday is expected to be mostly cloudy with highs in the low-50s, forecasts show.
