As the heat wave that gripped the city subsides, at least six Brooklyn residents are confirmed dead in its wake.
Officials say some of the victims include a mother and her grown son who were found dead Friday in a building on Belmont Avenue. An 86-year-old woman, Anne Cialeo, was also found dead in her Conduit Boulevard home. Thursday, 69-year-old Edna McEachin passed away inside her hot East New York apartment.
The city?s Office of Emergency Management urges residents to take refuge at cooling centers.
