Four Brooklyn pet owners were awarded a national grant to help with animal adoption.

The Petco Foundation Holiday Wishes Campaign awards more than $700,000 in grant money to pet owners who have shared stories of adoption.

Adopters from all over the country send in submissions in hopes of winning money for their shelters.

The Pulido family and their Shepard-mix were given a $10,000 donation for their shelter.

A total of 16 families from New York City were awarded $180,000 from the Petco Foundation.
