Brooklyn residents are exercising caution after a deadly crash involving two unlicensed livery services. The legitimacy of dollar vans and livery cabs is in the spotlight again after an accident Monday on Church Avenue. According to police, the driver of the dollar van fled the scene after an accident with a livery cab. Police are searching for the driver and say, if responsible, he may be charged with criminally negligent homicide. Police say there are certain things residents should look for when taking a car service. They say look for a Taxi and Limousine Service sticker on the vehicle?s windshield and check for license plates that read ?TLC.? The owner of one Flatbush van service says a rider?s safety is on the line when they choose unlicensed services.
