It may have been a tricky morning commute in Brooklyn, but the rain was by no means as bad as it could have been.
Long Island took the brunt of the more than 800-mile storm, which turned the Southern State Parkway into a river.
The Town of Islip saw 13 inches, setting a new state record for total rainfall in a 24-hour period.
Meteorologist Mike Favetta says that if the storm had shifted by just a few miles, Brooklyn could have looked much like its eastern neighbors.
