After not being able to open for months due to the pandemic, the Brooklyn Flea has returned to Dumbo with new safety measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
If you plan on visiting the market, you can expect to see a few changes to keep everyone safe, like a mask requirement, hand sanitizing stations and spaced-out vendors.
Eric Demby, the co-founder of the market, says it took some time to work with the city to figure out how to bring the market back safely. Now, he says he's just happy to be back.
"This is that day where, seeing the vendors that I've been working with for a decade or more, the sun's out, people are actually buying, you know, it's so normal in a way that it's surreal now," Demby says.
The market will be in Dumbo every Saturday. Demby says he's hoping to continue the outdoor market for as long as possible.
The market sells vintage items, jewelry, clothing and features 35 different vendors.
