Friday marked an important day for local high school students, who marched to mail their college applications.
Leaders High School in Bensonhurst took part in the day's festivities as one by one students marched out school doors to mail their applications.
Leaders High School is one of 18 schools in the city operated by NYC Outward Bound Schools. An organization that has helped over 1,000 seniors go to college citywide and that put together this college march.
"This really, for a lot of our students, represents a culmination of years of hard work and also their future," says Racheal Madris of NYC Outward Bound Schools.
A total of 68 students from Leaders handed in their applications today and for many it is the chance of a lifetime.
Most of these students have just been in the U.S. for a couple of years and will be among the first in their families to apply to college.
