A Brooklyn man faces a slew of charges after climbing one of the Brooklyn Bridge's towers and jumping into the East River on Sunday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

Galymzhan Abaildayev, 44, was seen climbing the bridge's north tower at 2:28 p.m. after officers, along with members of the NYPD Emergency Service Unit and Harbor Unit, responded to a 911 call for a person spotted at the top of the bridge.

When officers arrived, Abaildayev then jumped into the East River, according to police.

Harbor units removed Abaildayev from the water and transported him to a local hospital in stable condition.

Abaildayev was originally not placed under arrest. However, upon further investigation, he was later arrested at 5:43 p.m. and charged with reckless endangerment, making graffiti, public lewdness, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct following his plunge into the river.
