A Brooklyn man was exonerated last month after serving 23 years in prison.

Stephen Carrington was released from prison in 2019 and fought for years to be free and to clear his name.

As soon as he was released, he began working with the Alliance for Positive Change, doing many things, including HIV testing.

He says his time with the alliance helped him adjust to life outside of prison.

"How I feel or the relationship that I forge with that individual while I go through this moment makes me feel a certain way. It does something. It does something both ways," said Carrington.

The Alliance celebrated Carrington's exoneration with an office celebration.
