A teenage mom from Brooklyn was arrested in connection with her 3-year-old daughter's death Wednesday after the medical examiner ruled it a homicide.

Jessica Rosado is charged with manslaughter. Three-year-old Kiana Rosado was found unconscious in her East New York apartment Tuesday. The child was taken to Jamaica Hospital where she later died. The autopsy found that Kiana died when her liver was lacerated from a severe blow to the torso. Police say the girl also had bruises on her body.

Initially, Jessica Rosado and the victim's stepfather were just being questioned by police. The Administration for Children's Services (ACS) would not comment if the family had a history with the agency.
