Police are searching for a 5-year-old Brooklyn girl after the child?s mother walked away with her during a custody visit Monday monitored by the Administration of Children?s Services (ACS).
According to police, Deneen Peterkin, 41, was visiting her daughter, Egypt Lewis, at an ACS office on Montague Street. Officials say when the ACS worker who was monitoring the visit walked out of the room, Peterkin took off with Egypt.
Officials say Peterkin lost custody of her daughter in June after a nervous breakdown. Anyone with information on the pair?s whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
