Brooklyn Muslims attended service Thursday at a Borough Park mosque to mark the holy month of Ramadan.The sacred event comes in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Worshippers will fast from sunset to sunrise and pray five times daily.
Muslims say Ramadan is a time for inner reflection, devotion to God and self-control.
Ramadan is observed through October 11.
