Brooklyn Nets star Isaiah Whitehead held his third annual Give Back Day at Coney Island.
Whitehead graduated from Lincoln High three years ago and says he's always wanted to give back to his community.
"I've been planning this since high school," Whitehead said. "I just always liked giving back to kids. I like to see them smile and have a great time."
Those who came out had the opportunity to play basketball with Whitehead and other Brooklyn basketball stars. Games started at 11 a.m. and went on into the evening.
In addition to basketball, families enjoyed free food and activities throughout the event.
Members of the community say that Whitehead is a role model that children in the area can look up to.
