Dozens of parents rallied outside Ivy Hill Prep Charter School in East Flatbush Monday over the removal of the school's founding principal.
Parents say the removal of Ivy Hill Prep Charter School principal Ambrosia Johnson was sudden and unethical. No explanation was given from the board of trustees who made the decision. Johnson has been at the school from the beginning
Some parents received an email at 9 p.m. Friday from the board of trustees saying Johnson was removed effective immediately. Many were shocked as they say they had a real relationship with her. When questions weren't answered, over 100 parents took it upon themselves to show up Monday night to the board meeting to plead and ask questions in person. They say they received no solid explanation as to why the principal was fired.
The parents say they want full transparency in the reasoning behind the decision.
