Brooklyn Public Library launches 'Borrowed' podcast
The Brooklyn Public Library now has a new podcast to let the public know all about its programs.
The podcast "Borrowed" is shot and edited in-house at the Brooklyn Public Library--Central Branch in Prospect Heights.
The podcast is recorded in a studio on site. Library workers also visit other parts of the borough.

"Brooklyn Public Library has 59 branches, so I’ve been making my way around the library branches, I’ve been to about 18 or 20 of them,” says Virginia Marshall, podcasting associate.

Library employees say the podcast was an idea that had been floating around for a while. It wasn’t until seven or eight months ago, when library staff members decided to make it a reality.
They spent time researching other podcasts to get ideas for their own.

"We interview patrons, we interview staff, we go to interesting locations or events. Dungeons and Dragons, you know, gaming circle that happens at Stone Avenue is a great place to talk to teens and that's sort of where we harvest the stories and then we kind of see how they fit together in a theme,” says Borrowed podcast co-host Krissa Corbett Cavouras.

For bookworms, each segment ends with book recommendations. A new episode will be available every other week on Tuesdays.
