Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda was among 15 people indicted Thursday morning in Brooklyn Criminal Court.
Investigators say Shmurda, also known as Ackquille Pollard, moonlighted as a gang member and is connected to shootings throughout Brooklyn. They say he is part of the G Stone Crips gang from East Flatbush.
The NYPD'S Brooklyn South Violence Reduction Task Force investigated the case and arrested the rapper, along with 14 others Wednesday. Police say members of the alleged gang took part in violent shootouts on the streets of Brooklyn, harming innocent bystanders and murdering others.
Investigators also seized 21 guns and drugs during the investigation.
Shmurda and the other suspects face a variety of charges including murder and drug dealing.
