The Bedford Armory opened its doors Friday to Brooklyn residents who are donating food and clothing to victims of hurricane-ravaged Haiti.
The country has been besieged by three hurricanes in the past month, leaving hundreds dead and an untold number of people hungry and homeless.
Local officials are asking Brooklyn residents to focus on items such as beans and water, which are in high demand. The National Guard will be accepting donations at the armory until Sept. 26.
