East Williamsburg residents and elected officials are fighting to keep one of the area's only community centers from closing.
A large crowd of Brooklyn residents and elected officials from the local, state and federal levels came together to call on Mayor Bill de Blasio to help save the Ainslie Street center.
The community center has housed both the "Small World Child Care" for local children and the "Swinging 60's Senior Center" for the past 40 years.
The increased rent is too much for the tenants, who are pleading with the mayor for help.
News 12 reached out to both the landlord and the mayor for a comment but has not heard back.
