Brooklyn park-goers gathered at Prospect Park Saturday to discuss the state of the borough?s parks.
Additional parks, swimming pools and more trees could be on the way as Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe indicated that the department?s budget is strong. But he warned that a slowing economy and an upcoming change of administration might change all that.
Benepe said that the public must ensure that parks get the attention and funding they deserve. One way to keep the borough green is for residents to request a tree be planted on their block.
