Hundreds of thousands of volunteers across the world came together Sunday for Good Deeds Day.
Good Deeds Day was started in 2007 by philanthropist Shari Arison as an annual day of paying it forward, putting into practice the idea that everyone can do something good for others and positively change the world.
Members of the congregation at Saint Paul Community Baptist Church in East New York are making get-well cards for children in hospitals and writing letters to military wives.
They say they give back not only because it helps others in need, but also because it feels great to do something good.
This is the church's second year celebrating Good Deeds Day.
