Some Brooklyn residents are opening bank accounts in the name of activism.
Several dozen people gathered Saturday to open bank accounts at Carver Federal Savings Bank, a historically black-owned bank, to make a statement about recent police-involved deaths in the black community.
These residents say they're making both an economic and political statement.
The group is encouraging other members of the community to join them at the Carver Federal Savings Bank on Fulton Street to learn about the cause.
