Brooklyn schools collaborate through art and film
Two Cobble Hill schools bonded through art and film.
Officials told News 12 that they wanted students from Success Academy Cobble Hill Elementary School and the Digital Arts and Cinema Technology School to forge a relationship. The elementary and high school students share a campus.
Representatives said that the high school students filmed the Academy’s costume arts parade.
"I am really, really happy to get a chance to work with the kids and collaborate with another school, put our differences aside," said Joel Salguero, a student at Digital Arts and Cinema Technology School.
The partnership has gone beyond documenting the parade. Sarah Mallory, an art teacher at Success Academy, said that the partnership seemed like a perfect fit.
“My kids have learned photography and animation from the high school students at a level that I personally can't teach them at,” she said.
