2 boys charged in stabbing of man near Maria Hernandez Park

Police say that a 12-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy face assault charges in the stabbing of a man near Maria Hernandez Park.

The stabbing happened just after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Starr Street and Irving Avenue, near Maria Hernandez Park in Bushwick. A 41-year-old man was stabbed in the armpit and abdomen. EMS took him to NYC Health+Hospitals/Elmhurst, and he is now stable.

The NYPD says both boys are charged with three counts of assault.

The 15-year-old faces additional charges, including menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
