Officials say they are running out of space at the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island.
The center, which has served seniors in Brooklyn for more than 40 years, provides activities and daily meals for seniors.
Executive Director Rabbi Moshe Wiener says the need for more food and activities is growing and that funds are needed from City Council to expand.
City Council Speaker Melissa Mark Viverito visited the center Monday as part of a districtwide tour of funded senior centers. Rabbi Wiener says he hopes what she saw gave her the motivation to allocate more funds to the center.
