A few shops in the borough are proving you may not need to spend money on signs in your windows to get some attention.
Shane Sener, owner of coffee shop "Fair Weather Bushwick," says his store has had no signage for most of the seven months it has been open, instead relying on word of mouth. He also uses a stamp on his cups that he says catches the eyes of would-be customers more than a big sign out front.
Nearby, Owl Juice Pub is also practically nameless outside except for a small sign directing people indoors.
Some sign-free stores use social media apps such as Yelp and Facebook to get Brooklyn residents' attention.
