Saddened by the water crisis in Flint, Michigan, a Brooklyn social club has banded together with several other organizations to help bring clean water to the struggling city.
Organizers of a water drive Sunday say they know the water crisis in Flint is a big one. But they're hoping their work will help, and they plan to keep on donating until all of Flint has access to clean, safe water.
Lashonda Randolph says the collection started with a Facebook post expressing her concern about the crisis in Flint. It got so much attention that she decided to team up with the All For Uniting Social Club and several other organizations to help.
Donors at a water drive at Tovah restaurant in East Flatbush said they were also treated to good food and music.
The water collected Sunday still has to be taken all the way to Michigan. Luckily, the Food Bank For New York City has offered to transport all of it to Flint for free.
